Finding the TRINDERs in Cumnor was greatly helped by the fantastic Cumnor Parish Records site at Oxford University: Along with census records and other contributors I have been able to piece together this tree.
In the 1821 census a widowed Dinah is lodging with the HARDING family. Meanwhile in 1821 in the Chawley tithing a Mary TRINDER born 1803 is a servant at the farm of Ann STONE. It is assumed that Edward is the son of one of the above gentlemen, probably Thomas.
In the 1841 census an Edward TRINDER, born 1792 is a labourer at the farm of William BARRETT, Appleton Road, Cumnor. In the 1861 census a Francis TRINDER, born 1834 in
Stanton Harcourt
is in the Church House at Cumnor with wife Sarah, born 1837 Kings Sutton,
Oxon and children William, born 1858 and Anne, born 1860, both in Cumnor.
Widowed Silence is In the 1881 census only a widowed Sarah with Henry and Matthew (at Botley Pound), and the as yet unmarried Ellis (at Bean Wood Keeper's House - he was a Gamekeeper) are still resident in Cumnor. Silence is alone at Hill End. Strays from Cumnor are: William born 1858 moved to Stanton Harcourt , Thomas born 1852 (Hill End) moved to Woolvercote, In the 1901 census there are no Trinders in Cumnor. Strays from Cumnor
are: Matthew born 1864, moved to St Thomas, Thomas born 1850 moved to Cowley
St John, and brother Ellis born 1841 finally settled in Crawley, Hants.
It's not clear which Thomas was Daniel's. Other areas covered by Melanie: Comments, errors, and additions to
