It is not until the census of 1861 that any Trinder's show up in the village of Filkins, then it is a ready made family consisting of Robert Trinder, a Blacksmith and his wife Mary Anne and their 2 children, Frederick and William.
Robert is listed as being born in Kempsford in Gloucestershire around 1827 and I have managed to find a record of baptism for a Robert Trinder in Kempsford on the IGI, it reads as follows
Christening 25 DEC 1826 Kempsford, Gloucester, England
Parents John Trinder and Elizabeth
I have tried to find Robert on the 1841 census but as of yet cannot find any trace of him.
Moving on to the 1851 census, I have found Robert Trinder (aged 21) in Coln St Aldwyn, Glos with what looks like him living with and learning his trade as a blacksmith under the wing of a senior smith called William Cook (aged 37)
A few house holds away is Mary Anne Bargery, his wife to be living in 'Williamstrip House', working as a Nursery Maid and according to the census widowed at 18, this is unconfirmed as their marriage certificate states that she is a spinster.
Their marriage GRO ref number is given as
ROBERT TRINDER MARY ANN BARGERY

They were married on February 2 1856 at Coln St Aldwyn, Glos. Ages are not given and their profession's are Blacksmith and servant.
Mary's full name is recorded as Mary Ann Rhoda Bargery, daughter of Charles Bargery, a coachman.
Robert's father is named as John Trinder, and his profession is given as labourer.
The only other record of Robert that I can find is that of his death in 1896. The GRO ref number is as follows.
ROBERT TRINDER
Aged 69

When I searched the memorials and cemeteries in Filkins I did not find Robert but it did reveal the gravestones of William Henry Trinder (son of Robert) and Robert Kitchener Frederick Trinder (Grandson of Robert and son of Frederick).
The war memorial shows the name of Kenneth Trinder who was also a Grandson of Robert. The Commonwealth War Graves Commisiom has only one Trinder listed for the first world war with the first initial 'K' so I can only assume that this must be him.
